 The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening atmosphere. It is held one evening each week for a total of ten, thought-provoking sessions. It’s low key, friendly and fun. And it’s supported by all the main Christian denominations. More than 2 million people worldwide have already found it to be a worthwhile experience.

What is Alpha?
Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages are welcome.
Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the same time!
Pasta! Each meeting starts with a meal - and an opportunity to get to know each other.
Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks.
Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple, or too hostile.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone! It particularly caters to:
- People interested in investigating Christianity
- Newcomers to the Church
- New Christians
- People with doubts about the Christian faith
- Those who want to brush up on the basics
What happens at Alpha?
After each meal there is a series of talks looking at topics such as:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus die?
- Why and how should I read the Bible?
- Why and how do I pray?
- Who is the Holy Spirit?
- What does the Holy Spirit do?
- How does God guide us?
- How can I resist evil?
After each talk there is time in smaller groups for everone to discuss any issues or questions they have, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other and learn together.
 What will it cost?
Currently, registration and materials for the Alpha Course are provided absolutely free!
When and Where?
The Alpha Course is offered every fall and every spring at Pickering Pentecostal Church.
